While it rubs in very well for a traditional zinc balm, it may leave a slight white tint - just wait 5 minutes and rub in again.

If looking for a healing kawakawa balm for things such as insect bite relief, cradle cap, dry skin, eczema relief, our Kawakawa Balm has a stronger concentration of kawakawa than this outdoor balm.

Testing has shown this outdoor balm would allow you to stay out 18x longer than without (ie if you normally burn within 30mins, you'd last 9+hrs - SPF18) but reapplication every 2hrs is recommended due to sweating and rub-off, no matter the SPF. We label it as an SPF15 because legally we can only label certain SPF values (ie, either 15 or 20, 18 is not allowed to be printed on the label)
If a high SPF is important to you, check out our SPF50+ Sunscreen, as this has gone through the full rigorous testing, achieving an SPF 96 rating at the lab. This makes it more ideal for anyone who burns easily, or for days with more intense sun such as tramping at high elevation or on the snow.
