Peppermint oil has a lovely smell that's well known for it's airway clearing properties. It's got great uses for colds & flu, as well as for relieving headaches.
It is anaesthetic, antimicrobial, antiseptic, antispasmodic, antiviral, astringent, carminative, cephalic, cholagogue, cordial, digestive, expectorant, stimulant, stomachic, sudorific, vasoconstrictor, vermifuge.
Some uses of peppermint oil include:
Skin: Acne, dermititis, ringworm, scabies, toothache.
Circulation, Muscle & Joints: Neuralgia, muscular pain, palpitations.
Respiratory: Asthma, bronchitis, halitosis, sinusitis, spasmodic cough.
Digestive System: Colic, cramp, dyspepsia, flatulence, nausea.
Immune System: Colds, fever, flu.
Nervous System: Fainting, headache, mental fatigue, nervous stree, vertigo.
Peppermint oil is safe for children aged 10 years +. It is safe to use during pregnancy (Avoid in first trimester, or consult your medical practitioner), but may reduce milk supply if breastfeeding.
